When we found out that people had to tear down walls, drill holes, change tracks, and pay expensive fees (while spending unimaginable energy) just to experience smart curtains, we decided to do something about it.
In 2019, SwitchBot Curtain was born. It revolutionized the installation of smart curtains, with no tools, no wiring, and no track changing required. It turned old curtains into smart curtains in seconds.
However, it must be noted, this journey was not smooth sailing. We had to iterate SwitchBot Curtain over and over again to adapt to thousands of curtain tracks around the world. It was the biggest challenge for retrofitting smart curtains that we’d ever seen.
In 2022, SwitchBot Curtain 2 came along, with stronger adaptability, an innovative DynamiClamp™ structure design, and the ability to overcome the most difficult of telescopic rods.
This innovative structure design laid a solid foundation for overthrowing pre-installed smart curtains and the issues they may have had.

And so, as of 2023 (that is, now) SwitchBot Curtain 3 is available, installation is still simple, and there are still many ways to control your device(s). It also includes the following:

SwitchBot Curtain 3 still features the same easy installation that you’d be used to with the SwitchBot Curtain series.
Its unique detachable ear structure design not only simplifies the installation process but also significantly enhances the adaptability of Curtain 3. By simply changing the ear attachment, Curtain 3 can adjust to accommodate Roman Rods, U Rail, and I Rail curtain tracks (coming soon).
With our very own DynamiClamp™️ structure design, you can dynamically adjust your “ears” when passing through Roman Rods with height differences, from high to low or from low to high. 8 control methods, suitable for the whole family.
SwitchBot Curtain 3 supports up to 8 control methods, whether it is using via our app, with timers, or even voice control. SwitchBot Curtain 3 has it all. If you’re away but want to give the impression that someone’s home, just pair it with a SwitchBot Hub, and you can control it remotely. Or even if you have older family members or children at home, don’t worry. We also have a physical button SwitchBot Remote that you can simply press to open and close your curtains.
Not only that, Curtain 3 can also support Matter through Hub 2, and then support HomeKit too. This means from now on, iPhone users can easily control the opening and closing of curtains with their iPhone, Apple Watch, and HomePod Mini.

Actually, so-called compatibility is not only about curtain tracks or fabric style… curtain fabric weight also comes into play too. Only when everything is installed and runs smoothly can we truly redeem it to be compatible?
SwitchBot Curtain 3 is equipped with a more powerful motor that can easily push 15kg curtains on Rod-type tracks and 16kg curtains on U-type tracks (FYI: the heaviest curtains we can buy on the market are about 10kg). And it can even push curtains that are 5 meters high.
This upgrade not only helps push heavier curtains but also improves the pushing speed and reduces normal running noise too.
