January has arrived, which means it’s time to look back on 2023, and then head forward into the new year. Last year saw a lot happen, with the launch of some amazing products, including: Outdoor Meter, Curtain 3, Hub 2, S10, K10+, and more. And as always, thanks to all of you and the feedback you give to us, we’ve been able to both learn and have fun all at the same time. So below we’ve included a few special moments that we’d like to share with you as we look back at what happened over those magical 365 days.
A smart home device, where the only limit is your imagination.
Ah, the product that started it all. SwitchBot Bot has accompanied our loyal users for up to 8 years since its launch in 2016, and almost always makes it into our Best Seller list. Why? Because you guys love it. Bot can be used in so many different ways, and we’ve seen some pretty crazy stuff when it comes to how you all use it. In fact, we might just have the most imaginative fan-base out there, and boy oh boy, are we proud!
Let’s take a look at a few examples of what people got up to last year when using SwitchBot Bot (you might just get some inspiration too).
The smartest recliner, ever.
“Has anyone else tried to do this with their powered recliner? It works, buut sometimes it doesn’t do what it is supposed to. It seemed like a waste of money but I HAD to try it.”
Cold Wife? Not anymore!
“Sensor and hub have arrived. If no motion has been detected for 3 minutes the door will close. or if i say “hey google, my wife is freezing”
Got a touch panel? You’ll want to read this one.
“After doing some digging and experimenting, I discovered a great way to allow the Switchbot to control a capacitive button. Here is my modified Switchbot in action:”

Now with more users than ever before, SwitchBot Curtain just keeps getting better.
SwitchBot Curtain made its debut in 2019, and we’re now 5 years in. Recently fully upgraded (3rd Gen), this year saw an addition of approximately 20,000 users added to the SwitchBot Curtain user family, this means that now almost 230,000 people are using our retrofit smart curtains, and there’s more to come. Not just “A better intelligent curtain solution” in terms of user data, we’ve also got a ton of real user scenarios that show just how great SwitchBot Curtain really is. Helping you open curtains conveniently and easily is one thing, but what warms us the most is how such a product helps enrich the lives of those around us.
“I am often away and my mother who is 82 years old and lives with me no longer has to climb on a chair to open or close the curtains, THANK YOU SWITCHBOT.”
“We got blackout curtains for our toddler’s room because she thinks it’s wake up time as soon as there is any light coming through her window. But with blackout curtains, she was bound to sleep all day if we don’t go up and get her.
We wanted to control when she wakes up but also not shock her from conplete darkness with the curtains closed to all of a sudden brightness from opening the curtains.”
Enriching lives doesn’t just stop here, even pets get in on the action!
🐶: No more staying in the dark waiting for daddy to come home! Woof! @Stuart Gamba
🐱: Ah! This is the life. I’m gonna sit back, relax, and take in the view.@Sean
🐔: It’s dinner time, open up! I’m hungry.@Anders Stoor
