It’s been a month since we’ve seen the release of the SwitchBot Universal Remote, during which we have received a lot of feedback from our users, including things such as:
- Wanting to control fans and audio speakers
- Requesting brightness control for SwitchBot Color Bulb
- And hoping that Fire TV support comes ASAP!
And that’s not all.
After considering user feedback, we have decided to accelerate development, hoping to provide users with a better Universal Remote experience sooner rather than later.
So we have an update! The main content of this update includes:
- Support for more types of infrared devices.
- Support for more SwitchBot devices with more complete control functionality.
- Supported learning and control for Apple TV/Fire TV.

Please note: devices highlighted in bold are new to this update. App version 8.5 or higher with Universal Remote firmware version 2.4 or higher required.
Six new infrared device types have been added!
In addition to the previously controllable devices you’d be used to like air conditioners, television, and lights, Universal Remote now has added support for six types of infrared devices. In addition to the ON/OFF function, more operations can now be performed, such as adjusting fan speed and stereo volume too!

Enjoy better control of SwitchBot devices.
You can now control the opening and closing degree of our smart curtains and smart blinds.
In addition to opening and closing Curtain, Curtain 3, and Blind Tilt, the opening and closing percentage can also be adjusted starting from 1% increments. In addition, frequently used on/off levels (such as 60% on, etc.) can be added to the customizable buttons on your remote, up to a maximum of 4 can be added.
You can also control SwitchBot smart lights across our entire product line in a more indepth way.
And with turning on/off your lights, you can now adjust the color, brightness, and mode of Color Bulbs and Strip Lights too.
Added support for K10+ and Battery Circulator Fan!
These weren’t previously controllable when Universal Remote made its debut, but you can now perform simple on/off controls with even more functionality to come in the future.
Finally, control for Apple TV and Fire TV is here!
With our update, Universal Remote can also control Fire TV and Apple TV via Bluetooth. You can turn devices on and off, switch channels, and change other settings too.

We are still working hard on updates to help make Universal Remote even better. In the future, you should see support for more infrared home appliances, SwitchBot devices, and TV boxes, with an overall upgrade when it comes to control experience.
